LeBron James' last game before turning 37 was unfortunately a 104-99 road loss to the  Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday night. Nevertheless, James posted a sparkling stat line that ultimately led to him duplicating a rare feat last pulled off by no other than the GOAT, Michael Jordan. However, the accomplishment also highlights a bad stretch for their respective teams.

Via Stats By STATS:

LeBron James has 209 points, 63 rebounds and 39 assists over his last 6 games, but the Lakers are 1-5.

The last NBA player to have 200/60/30 over a 6-game span but have just one win (or none) to show for it was Michael Jordan from April 4-14, 1989.

Against the Grizzlies, James recorded 37 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks in 38 minutes of action. He has been doing it all for the Lakers of late, as the team needed everything from the four-time league MVP to keep their heads above water while dealing with injuries and COVID-19-related absences. But like Jordan during that aforementioned stretch in the late 80s, James' efforts have mostly been wasted in losses.

The Lakers entered the game against the Grizzlies following a 132-123 loss in Texas to the Houston Rockets Tuesday — a victory that snapped Los Angeles' five-game losing skid.

As for Jordan, that six-game stretch with the Bulls in 1989 saw Chicago lose to the likes of the Detroit Pistons (twice), Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers, and the New Jersey Nets. The only win was against the Charlotte Hornets.
