Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was in attendance for Bronny James Jr.'s high school game against his alma mater — St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron — on Saturday night in Columbus, Ohio.

Seventeen years to the day that James won the MVP during a similar high school showcase, Bronny was named the MVP of the game after scoring 15 points and notching the go-ahead bucket in the final minute.

Bronny has been coming off the bench for Sierra Canyon High School, but he capitalized on a rare start to put together the best game of his young career.

Zach Fleer of 270 Hoops broke down Bronny's skill set (via Nicole Kraft of the AP):

“Before LeBron went to the Lakers, it was assumed Bronny would stay in Ohio and play at St. Vincent -St. Mary, and carry on the tradition,” Zach Fleer of 270 Hoops, central Ohio's premiere prep basketball site, said. “Among freshman class, he is among the elite players, but he is not the best player in country. He's not like his dad yet—he still has a ways to go, Right now I think he is a better shooter than LeBron was at that age. He's 6-foot-2 now. If he stretches out to his dad size, there is no telling how good he can be.”

Fleer notes that Bronny already has good size and is a better shooter than LeBron was at that age, which could serve him tremendously if he continues to grow physically.

LeBron was merely considered a mediocre perimeter shooter during his first stint in Cleveland, but he was more efficient in his days with the Miami Heat.

There is no telling what the future has in store for Bronny, but James is certainly proud of his son.
