Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has always been efficient on the court. This season, James is posting his highest scoring average since 2009-10 despite playing the fewest minutes of his career.

Before he joined forces with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh with the Miami Heat in 2010, LeBron James finished second behind Kevin Durant in scoring with 29.7 points per game. The four-time MVP saw his points dip a little in the next several years mainly because he shared the offensive load with Wade and Bosh in Miami, and then with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love in Cleveland.

But James' scoring efficiency has remained outstanding, as he has posted above 50 percent shooting in every year except one since the big move to Miami. That efficiency has been on full display this year as James is still posting the same incredible numbers despite seeing fewer minutes on the court. He's shooting 51.7 percent after his monster 44-point performance against the Portland Trail Blazers

While The King hasn't shown too many signs of slowing down, the Lakers are trying to be smart about his minutes. Los Angeles is reserving the best of LeBron for the playoffs, a goal the team is desiring to accomplish after revamping the roster in the summer.

One more interesting stat is that LeBron James is posting his lowest usage rate (29.9) since his second year in the NBA. This is a testament to the depth of the Lakers and the bevy of playmakers surrounding James this year.
