On Friday, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James posted a powerful message on his Instagram account for the world to see.

LeBron posted a photo with a 10-word message for Breonna, apologizing for “taking so long” to bring justice for her.

James' post received mixed reactions from social media, as some were in clear support of his message while others were in disdain as they want the Lakers forward to focus on basketball completely.

While this sort of treatment has been a predominant theme throughout his career, LeBron James has never shied away from showing his support for the causes that he feels passionate about. This is no exception.

Notably, James has always been a supporter of the “Black Lives Matter” movement. This wasn't the first instance of the Lakers leader vocally speaking about his sentiments toward the issue.

For proper context, Breonna Taylor was a 26-year-old African-American emergency medical technician. Last March 13, 2020, she was fatally shot by Louisville Metro Police Department officers. The three LMPD officers were in plainclothes and executed a no-knock search warrant when they entered her apartment in Louisville, Kentucky.

With that said, expect James to empathize with the recent events that have transpired throughout the world, as he will most probably continue to speak his mind on the matters that are important to him. While he refused to put a statement on the back of his Lakers jersey, LeBron did promise to use his platform in the Orlando bubble to make a change and fight for social justice.
