NBA title, Space Jam 2 — that's not a normal progression for most people, but LeBron James isn't most people. After winning his fourth championship at Walt Disney World over the Miami Heat, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar sat down with Steve Smith and Jared Greenberg of NBA TV to talk about a number of topics.

At the end of the spirited discussion, James provided an update on Space Jam 2 following a statement from Greenberg.

“Yeah for sure, for sure. Oh, we gonna do that. We gonna finish up Space Jam and it's still slotted for this summer coming up.”

Space Jam 2 will feature LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson and Damian Lillard from the NBA side. WNBA stars Diana Taurasi, Nneka Ogwumike and Chiney Ogwumike will be in the film as well.

James will play the role his childhood idol, Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan, played in the first Space Jam movie with Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes squad. The Lakers star and his production team began filming the movie during the summer of 2019.

Lakers fans are excited about Space Jam 2 since it will have James and Davis in it. Some other high-profile Hollywood actors will be in the film as well, most notably Don Cheadle and Sonequa Martin-Green.

The Lakers are world champions again for the first time since 2010. While some fans of the club didn't fully embrace James when he first signed with Los Angeles in 2018, that is certainly not the case anymore.
