The Los Angeles Lakers are off to a strong start to their playoff run as they face the red-hot Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. As part of a huge run in the second quarter, Lakers center Dwight Howard went back to his old self and with a huge two-handed jam which ended up tilting the backboard. This eventually resulted in a quick technical break and LeBron James, along with his other teammates, helped the officials straighten things out.

During the break, James stepped on the court to suggest to the officials that the rim was slightly tilted towards the left as a result of Howard's dunk. Watch LeBron, with Danny Green and JaVale McGee direct the officials here:

The NBA's assist leader this season did end up with 10 assists in the first half but this was probably LeBron James' most important assist in the game so far.

The Lakers had a rough start to their playoff opener as the Damian Lillard led the Blazers to a double-digit lead early in the game. Shooting woes continued for the Purple & Gold as they couldn't connect from long distance starting the game 0-8 from three in the first quarter. Los Angeles is currently last in three-point percentage in the bubble so far, averaging just 29.8% from long distance.

Things started to change in the second quarter when the Lakers started knocking down shots and had their transition game going. The Lakers went on a huge run to cut the deficit to single digits and clearly had the momentum midway through the second quarter just before Howard's superman strength forced a technical timeout.

The tightly-contested first half ended 57-56, with Portland enjoying a slim one-point lead.
