At first sight, you wouldn't think that Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso is an actual NBA player. With his looks, he could easily pass as your home-room teacher.

But on Friday, Caruso had himself a night against the L.A. Clippers, erupting for 32 points and 10 rebounds – both career-highs – to lead the Purple and Gold to a 122-117 victory. He was on fire from deep, making five triples, and shooting 10-of-19 from the field. He also added five assists, two steals, and a block to round out his amazing night.

After the game, LeBron James took to Twitter to give a shoutout to the undrafted prospect out of Texas A&M for his career game.

LeBron always has this habit of giving props to fellow players, especially teammates, when they achieve something great.

This is especially a huge accomplishment for Caruso, who hasn't really found a stable place in the NBA. Getting a shoutout from arguably the best player in the world must have felt really special for him.

Amazingly, his performance on Friday put him beside James as the only two Lakers this season to notch a 30-point, 10-rebound, and 5-assist game this season.

Caruso also made headlines yesterday in their game against the Golden State Warriors after he caught everyone by surprise – especially James, who had a hilarious reaction on the bench – with a thunderous put back slam over traffic.

Caruso has only played 23 games this season. He has seen the floor more often at this point of the season, especially after the Lakers officially bowed out of the Western Conference playoff race.

Caruso is currently on a two-way contract with Los Angeles, and his performance last night may just help him secure a permanent spot in the NBA.
