Former United States President Barack Obama made a special appearance in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat. Mr. Obama was a virtual fan during the game, to which Lakers star LeBron James was very appreciative of.

James took to Twitter after the game to show his appreciation towards the former President and his endearing message during his brief appearance:

Mr. Obama sent a shout out to the poll volunteers for the upcoming national elections, while also reminding everyone to go out and vote. This is exactly what LeBron James and many other NBA players have been lobbying for over the past couple of months, and their happy to get the support of the former commander-in-chief in their own platform.

James put on quite a show for Mr. Obama and the rest of the supporters who were tuned in to what turned out to be a blowout win for the Lakers. LeBron finished with 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting, to go along with 13 rebounds, nine assists, and a steal in 36 minutes of action. He also went 2-of-4 from distance, as he led L.A. to a dominant display against a hapless Heat side in Game 1.

LeBron and company are now just three wins away from bagging the title. James knows that the job is anything but done at this point, so he and the rest of the Lakers will surely come out with the same closeout mentality come Game 2 on Friday.
