LOS ANGELES – Before the Los Angeles Lakers took on the arch-rival Boston Celtics on Saturday night, the team announced some very concerning news about Brandon Ingram. The third-year forward will miss the rest of the 2018-19 NBA season due to a blood clot in his arm.

This news sent shockwaves throughout the organization and the fan base as it may jeopardize the 21-year-old's future in the league. Ingram was just starting to come into his own before a sore shoulder kept him sidelined which ultimately turned out to be much worse than anticipated.

After the loss to the Celtics, LeBron James talked about the team's reaction to the new about Ingram's health and losing him for the rest of the year as a result.

“More importantly, you put everything in perspective,” James said of Ingram's health. “At the end of the day, we play the game that we love and our league is all about wins and losses and that's what it's all about, but when you have something like that happen you're able to put things in perspective.

“On the flip side, you don't take an opportunity for granted when you do get on the floor because it can be taken away from you and your season can be shut down like B.I's instance and Zo's instance…We wish the best of health to not only B.I, but to Zo as well.”

With Chris Bosh, one of James' former teammates, more or less being forced to retire recently due to blood clots in his legs, this is obviously a serious situation not only for Ingram's health moving forward but also the impact it'll have on the team.

The 2018-19 campaign has been one to forget for the Lakers as they'll continue to limp their way to the end of the season. From the trade deadline aftermath, James' injury, and now Ingram's uncertain future, things haven't gone well in Los Angeles as this franchise tries to right the ship with a superstar leading the way.
