Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James was challenged to average double-digit assists this season.

James not only accomplished that goal, but he also led the NBA in assists per game.

After missing the playoffs last season, LeBron James came back motivated in 2019-20. The Lakers' acquisition of superstar Anthony Davis was exactly what James needed to contend in the rugged Western Conference.

However, no one saw James leading the NBA in assists per game. It's an impressive feat when you consider this is Year 17 for James and he's a small forward playing the point guard spot.

The Lakers will be one of the betting favorites to win the 2020 championship once the playoffs start. They had the best record in the Western Conference standings and will face the Memphis Grizzlies, Portland Trail Blazers or Phoenix Suns in the first round of the 2020 playoffs.

James is looking to win title No. 4 at Disney World. He's an MVP Finalist as well along with James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo. While James would love to win MVP No. 5, he's more concerned about team success and leading the Lakers to a championship.

It should be fun to watch James and Davis play in the postseason together. The Lakers will only win the title if LeBron and AD perform like superstars every night.
