Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was absolutely hyped after witnessing Kevin Durant and Team USA beat France to win the gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Team USA had a hard time against the Frenchmen, who didn't allow them to pull away far throughout the contest. In fact, the last 10 seconds of the game was intense after France cut the lead to just three, 85-82, behind some spectacular plays from Frank Ntilikina, Nicolas Batum and Nando De Colo.

However, the American national team held on and got the job done despite initial fears they won't be able to win it all in Tokyo.

Right after the huge 87-82 win, LeBron took to Twitter to congratulate Team USA. The Lakers forward was clearly ecstatic, writing his reaction in capital letters.

Kevin Durant led the way for Team USA as he finished with 29 points, while Jayson Tatum added 21. Jrue Holiday was also crucial in the contest, with his defense particularly being on point to help the squad maintain their lead and prevent any chance of a France comeback.

LeBron James could have been part of Team USA, but he chose to use the offseason to rest after the Lakers' short break in the previous campaign. It didn't help that he also has other engagements in the offseason.

Despite the absence of the Lakers scorer, however, Team USA still proved why they are the top-ranked basketball team in the world. There were some concerns they wouldn't be able to win gold after losing two pre-Olympic exhibition games against Nigeria and Australia, but KD and Co. certainly shut down their doubters.
