Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Atlanta Hawks guard Lou Williams both entered the NBA straight from high school. LeBron was selected no. 1 overall in 2003 by the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Williams was picked no. 45 overall by the Philadelphia 76ers two years later.

But not many know that LBJ and Lou Will go way back. Even before Williams made it to the NBA, he was already good friends with LeBron, hanging out several times during the rookie year of the Lakers main man. On Tuesday, Williams felt nostalgic and posted on Instagram a throwback snap of him and The King, adding a rather interesting anecdote in the caption.

“Aye @kingjames, my moms got some timeless pics in her archive. Lol. Your rookie year. Me going into my senior year in high school. I had got hit with a baseball bat (accidentally) the week before that so my eye was black. Same scar I got now.”

Williams still looks the same today, TBH.

LeBron quickly responded with a comment, appreciating the old picture and saying Williams has been his guy for years now.

LeBron and Williams are among the senior citizens in the NBA and all these years, they've never been teammates. They came quite close though. Lou Will suited up for the Lakers until 2017, while LeBron arrived one season later. Them being teammates with the Purple & Gold would've been a special reunion.

For now, LeBron James and Lou Williams will have to do with reminiscing about the past.
