Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has recently shown his support for NASCAR racer Bubba Wallace — the only Black racer in the circuit today — whose team reportedly found a noose in the racer's garage.

James condemned the act, and commended Wallace for the movement he has started to implement a real change in the world of Motorsport racing:

Wallace has been the main propagator of the movement to disallow the use of the Confederate flag during NASCAR races — a cause that has taken fruition with the racing committee opting to ban the racially-charged flag from all its future races. This was not taken too well by a faction of NASCAR supporters, whose fanbase happens to be predominantly white.

The hangman's noose, which is an age-old symbol for racism and oppression, that was found in Wallace's garage does not only seem to represent a difference in his opinion, but it also appears to serve as somewhat of a death threat. In the past, the noose was used to hang criminals — both black and white — who were sentenced to death.

LeBron James was disgusted by the act and had some words of encouragement for Wallace.

Wallace has been praised for his bravery and his willingness to speak out despite being a minority in the sport. By fighting against racial discrimination, he pretty much risked it all. Obviously, not everyone agrees with what he is fighting for, with some going as far as sending him a threat in the most sickening of fashions.
