The gargantuan NCAA rule change that allows athletes to profit off their name, image, and likeness has been the talk of the sports world. NBA analyst and former Arizona Wildcat Richard Jefferson had a strong message on the new rule change, one that got the attention of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.

While a number of amateurs have been able to strike deals for their own benefit right away, Jefferson made a strong point that the Lakers frontman just had to react to and retweet.

Speak truth to power, RJ. The ruling was definitely long overdue and it's great to see NCAA stars being able to earn some well-deserved cash during their amateur careers. But that doesn't bring reparations for the athletes who were punished in the past for a rule being enforced that was deemed illegal by the US Supreme Court. Jefferson highlighted his own minor incident involving his college roommate and former Laker Luke Walton. But also emphasized some whose legacies were tarnished completely, just like Reggie Bush, who famously had his Heisman Trophy stripped after receiving benefits as an amateur.

While LeBron James himself never went to college and didn't face that situation himself, the Lakers star is using his platform to help send a message to the NCAA that this fight isn't over.
