Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is pleased with the Black voting results for the 2020 Presidential Election in several prominent U.S. cities.

As part of a tweet that was sent on Wednesday afternoon, James applauded the cities of Detroit, Milwaukee, Atlanta and Philadelphia for what appears to be a strong Democratic turnout at the polls:

It is worth noting, however, that votes are still rolling in as this article is being written. As of roughly 2:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, President Trump was leading in Pennsylvania, though votes from Philadelphia and other urban communities are still coming in. In Michigan and Wisconsin, Democratic candidate Joe Biden has pulled ahead by a narrow margin after initially trailing. Atlanta is another city that is still processing votes, but Georgia as a whole is currently leaning toward a Republican vote.

According to several reports, the Trump campaign is already hinting that they will request a recount in some of these important states, including Wisconsin and Michigan. Trump won Wisconsin in 2016 by fewer than 23,000 votes:

It's no secret that James and Trump do not see eye-to-eye when it comes to politics. James supported Hillary Clinton's campaign โ€” a fact that Trump often points to in his arguments against the former No. 1 overall pick.

LeBron James and the Lakers are fresh off an NBA championship-winning season โ€” their 17th as a franchise. At this point, it's not totally clear when the 2020-21 campaign will begin, but a vote is expected to come Thursday for a possible Dec. 22 start date.
