Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will go down in history as one of the greatest to have ever played the sport. In spite of his unbridled legacy, however, one aspect of his game that has received its fair share of criticism through the years is his knack for playacting.

LeBron produced one of the most noteworthy flops of the 2020-21 season thus far on Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies, and apparently, the league is taking action. According to NBA insider Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the NBA has decided to issue James a warning for his antics:

Here's a look at the incident in question:

LeBron actually sold the call to the referees, which resulted in two free throws for the four-time league MVP. League officials reviewed the play after the game and have now deemed it necessary to remind LeBron  James (and the rest of the NBA as well) about the league's anti-flopping rule.

As the Grizzlies broadcasters so clearly emphasized in their comments in the above clip, flopping has emerged as a huge problem in the NBA today. Players have been getting away with so many phantom calls, which for most, has become a noticeably negative aspect of the sport.

The league can only do so much, though. The referees will also need to do their bit in ensuring that players are not rewarded for their flopping efforts. As long as they get away with it, the floppers will likely just keep on taking advantage of this sleight.
