LeBron James has missed the last six Los Angeles Lakers contests, including today's afternoon matchup with the San Antonio Spurs, with a right abdominal strain. The Lakers' highly-anticipated squad has underperformed so far this season, and getting James back in the lineup is a huge step to correcting the course.

Frank Vogel provided up an update on James' status, saying that he's still listed as day-to-day but also adding that he might not need to practice before returning to action. Here's what the Lakers' head coach said, per Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen and Roll:

“He looks good. He’s moving. He hasn’t done a full practice or contact yet but he’s looking good moving around in his individual work,” Vogel said.

The Lakers are 7-6 entering today's matchup and are 24th in offensive rating in the NBA. Vogel has been mixing and matching his starting lineup to try to find a successful remedy for the issues caused by James' absence. Losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-83 is a signal that they're heading in a bad direction.

In six games this season, LeBron is averaging 24.8 points, 7.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds in 37.0 minutes per game. The soon-to-be 37-year-old hasn't totally slowed down but Los Angeles needs to make the most of every available minute of basketball he can play.

The Lakers received some other good injury news earlier, as young wing Talen Horton-Tucker will make his season debut today against the Spurs. The 20-year-old has been out with a thumb injury and will start against San Antonio alongside Anthony Davis, Carmelo Anthony, Avery Bradley and Russell Westbrook.
