It appears that the Los Angeles Lakers will be shorthanded for their Game 5 matchup against the Phoenix Suns, with superstar big man Anthony Davis looking doubtful to play due to a groin injury. LeBron James is well aware of what's at stake for that pivotal matchup and the four-time NBA champ has provided a bit of a preview of the type of mindset the Lakers will have coming into Game 5.

According to James, LA will need to remain true to themselves when they match up against Chris Paul and the Suns on Tuesday — with or without AD:

“Sometimes it comes down to knocking down shots,” LeBron said, via Ron Gutterman of Lakers Nation. “We’re getting some great looks. Obviously, I’m going to take a look at the film when I get back home as I wake up from a nap. See other ways maybe we can exploit the defense, but they’re giving us some good looks we’re just not knocking them down.

“We’ve had this happen before in the past, but we always trust each other. We gonna trust the past. Get the ball moving from side to side and trust our shots and get up there and knock them down.”

As LeBron indicated in his message, the Lakers just couldn't find their shot in Game 4. Phoenix, on the other hand, executed their game plan to perfection and it resulted in a convincing 100-92 win, as the Suns tied the series at 2-2.

James and the defending champs will need to just keep on doing what they're doing come Game 5 and hope that their shots start falling. The possible absence of Anthony Davis puts them at a clear disadvantage, but as LeBron said above, the Lakers have been in this position in the past.
