When the Los Angeles Lakers jumped above several teams in the 2019 NBA Draft to land the fourth overall selection, many thought that it would be the perfect trade piece to use for the team to acquire Anthony Davis. However, the team may keep the pick.

With that in mind, the Lakers have begun working out a variety of potential players, and one prospect that they worked out, Jarrett Culver, had a special guest attending. According to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times, LeBron James was at the Lakers facility during Culver’s workout.

While this doesn’t necessarily mean much, it is interesting to see James be active while the Lakers work out potential prospects. It isn’t uncommon to see players at these workouts, as it was reported that the Suns also had a variety of players at workouts when they had the number one overall pick last year.

Although Culver isn’t seen as a surefire All-Star, he is seen as one of the more intriguing picks in the 2019 NBA Draft. He had a great career at Texas Tech, and is one of the few players that many in the NBA world see as having the potential to develop into an impact player on both ends of the floor.

During his 2018 season at Texas Tech, Culver averaged 18.5 points per game, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. Culver also shot 46.1% from the field overall and hit 30.4% of his three-point attempts, although he did make 38.2% of the threes he attempted in 2017.

Although he isn’t considered to be one of the top three choices when the draft comes later this month, he could be a very interesting option for anyone after that, especially the Lakers.
