The Los Angeles Lakers are now in serious danger of potentially missing the play-in altogether after a brutal loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night, who is sitting above them in the standings. While LeBron James showed out for 38 points and Anthony Davis dropped 23 in his return from injury, it simply wasn't enough to get the win.

A late fourth-quarter run for the Pelicans proved to be the difference-maker, but the Lakers also didn't help their own cause with some sloppy basketball in crunch time. However, NOLA did lock down in the final seconds, double-teaming LeBron and forcing him to take a very tough three that missed by a mile.

After the shot, Brandon Ingram made sure to troll The King with a “LeBrick”.

Via Barstool:

That's a heartbreaking one for the Lakers and LeBron. It's just a bit of fun trolling though because let's be honest, James is about the only one actually playing out of his mind on a nightly basis. The 37-year-old is leading the NBA with an insane 30.3 points per game, yet LA is still 15 games under .500.

Ingram clearly felt some type of way about handing his former team a loss. The former Lakers forward scored 29 points for the Pels, while CJ McCollum led the charge with 32.

The battle for a play-in spot is going to be very tough for Los Angeles. Their next five games are against Nuggets, Suns, Warriors, Thunder, and Denver again. Aside from OKC, all very difficult matchups.

Let's hope Bron and AD can carry them.
