Lakers star LeBron James was encouraged by the talent showcased by his teammates Brandon Ingram upon his home debut at the Staples Center on Tuesday night, telling Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports plenty of enticing praise for the third-year swingman.

“I had a conversation LeBron briefly after last night's game, and you know what kid he talked about mostly — and he raved about this kid? He said Brandon Ingram has the juice,” said Haynes as a guest in Fox Sports 1's Undisputed. “I said, ‘Yeah, he can be your Pippen.' He said that guy is going to be special.”

Brandon Ingram is likely to play at his natural small forward spot this season while LeBron James shifts to the power forward spot, but their connection could prove to be the evolved version of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen if Ingram develops nicely over the span of this long season.

The 6-foot-9 forward only played 19 minutes against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night and nearly fouled out of the contest, registering only four points, six rebounds, one assists and a steal to go with his five personal fouls in a 113-111 loss — yet James seems confident the potential is there to create something special in L.A.

LeBron will need a tandem partner for this season while the Lakers figure out which players to target for the upcoming free agency period, making Ingram a likely part of the next Big Three in the making. James is coming off arguably his best NBA season at age 33, but the window for victory isn't getting any bigger, as father time is bound to come calling at one point or another.
