Everyone in the NBA is chasing the Golden State Warriors and that includes LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. James has spent the last four seasons battling the Warriors and he knows them as well as anyone in the league. That's why his latest comment on the dynasty is so interesting.

“We’ve got a long way to go to get to Golden State,” LeBron said per Dan Feldman of NBC Sports. “They can pick up right where they left off.

“We’re picking up from scratch. So, we have a long way to go. … Hopefully, someday, we can put ourselves in a position where we can compete for a championship, as Golden State has done for the last few years.”

Lakers fans might want to believe that they are on the same level as Golden State, but James is speaking the truth here. The Lakers are still a fairly young team that will need to do some growing up this season.

Of course, LeBron instantly makes the Lakers a possible playoff squad, but the Warriors still stand above the crowd. When fully healthy, the Warriors start five All-Star caliber players. Durant and Curry are two of the best players in the league now surrounded by DeMarcus Cousins, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson. It's tough to pick against them.

That being said, the Lakers won't have much pressure this year. If they can secure another star in free agency next summer, then they will be closer to catching up with Golden State. But until then, LeBron is probably right.
