Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is in New York City to play the New York Knicks on Wednesday. The self-professed King of New York admitted his favorite part about NYC is getting to play in the Mecca of Basketball: Madison Square Garden.

James has had some of his best performances against the Knicks, and he's always sure to put on a show for a fan base that has been itching to have him don the orange and blue since the start of his career.

During his last time out at The Garden, he poured in 33 points, six rebounds, and eight assists on March 17, but came up empty from deep (0-for-6), losing a narrow 124-123 outing at the end of the season.

James made a surprise visit to the Harlem YMCA on Tuesday to share his love of bikes with some of the local teens. Ride-share company Lyft was set to give out free Citi Bike memberships to local youths in the spring, but many of the YMCA kids were surprised to see The King himself show up:

“I was a kid who grew up in the inner city back in Ohio riding bikes,” said James, according to Alex Taylor and Vincent Barone of the New York Post.

“What bikes did for me — to be able to travel across the city with my friends to get from my home to school, or to get to basketball practices or football practices … it’s a segue to be able to do so many things that can also carry you for the rest of your life.”

LeBron James will be just as active on Wednesday when his Lakers hope to bounce back from a 32-point debacle against the Celtics by getting a win over the Knicks, who are coming off a 20-point win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
