Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is the only player in NBA history to earn All-NBA honors 16 times.

By making the All-NBA First Team this season, James passes 15-time All-NBA Team selections Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan:

LeBron James made the All-NBA Third Team last season, mostly because he only played in 55 games due to a groin injury he suffered on Christmas against the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers also missed the playoffs in James' first season with the club.

However, James has reclaimed his throne this season. The King averaged 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game for the Lakers, who finished the 2019-20 regular season with the top record in the rugged Western Conference standings.

LeBron also shot 49.3 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from beyond the arc, 69.3 percent from the free-throw line and led the NBA in assists per game for the first time during his legendary career. The Lakers played James at point guard this season.

The Lakers are now the overwhelming favorite to win the 2020 championship after the Denver Nuggets upset the Los Angeles Clippers in the second round. James is looking to make NBA history by winning his third title and third Finals MVP with his third franchise.

With Anthony Davis by his side, LeBron James has a good shot of accomplishing that goal. However, the Purple and Gold can't skip any steps and look past the Nuggets, who just made history with their second consecutive 3-1 comeback.
