Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James certainly made Colin Kaepernick proud after the 4-time NBA MVP continued the fight for social justice even while inside the bubble in Orlando, Florida.

On Friday, The King shared a handwritten note from the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, thanking him for leading the charge and using his stature to further the cause of the Black Lives Matter Movement.

The 2019-20 NBA campaign was put on hold for the second time this year, following the tragic events that left African-American civilian Jacob Blake paralyzed after being shot from behind seven times by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin on August 23. This sparked outrage all over the world and sent shockwaves inside the Walt Disney World facilities.

With the incident occurring close to their home court at the Fiserv Forum, the Milwaukee Bucks sent a clear message of protest by boycotting Game 5 of their Eastern Conference first-round match-up against the Orlando Magic last Wednesday.

LeBron James, meanwhile, was reportedly one of the most vocal figures during the meetings that followed between the league brass and the National Basketball Players Association.

The entire postseason was in limbo for a brief time, after James and the Lakers voted the cancellation of the season. Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers initially shared the same sentiments.

But after cooler heads prevailed, the two sides agreed to continue what they started. James retracted his initial stance after getting assurance from team owners that they will take more steps to fight social injustice.

The NBA players' boycott, meanwhile, just so happened to coincide with the 4th anniversary of the first time Colin Kaepernick took a knee in protest during an NFL game. Kaep sacrificed it all for his activism, and it's nice to see that his fellow professional athletes in the NBA are willing to do the same.
