Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James sent a clear message to those doubting his ability to perform in the clutch. Facing the Detroit Pistons on Saturday at Staples Center, The King hit back-to-back 3-pointers in the second overtime to give the defending champions a 135-129 victory.

The Purple and Gold only had a one-point advantage with less than two minutes to go when James buried a nasty corner step-back trey over Pistons center Mason Plumlee.

Now up by four with under a minute left, the four-time NBA MVP made sure to close the door for good, this time with another step-back 3-pointer in the right-wing. Plumlee tried his best to contain LBJ, but it did not bother the Lakers superstar one bit.

LeBron James finished with a game-high 33 points on 13-for-25 shooting from the field and 3-of-7 from deep, along with five rebounds, 11 assists and four steals in 46 minutes. The Lakers were finally able to avenge their humiliating blowout loss to the Pistons last month.

Moreover, the hard-fought win pushed the Lakers back to second place in the Western Conference with a 17-6 slate.

Entering Saturday's home-game, LeBron was averaging a career-best 40.9 percent shooting clip from long range. He is also shooting more threes than ever this year.
