Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James has been a strong supporter of Colin Kaepernick in the past, and that trend continued on Saturday.

Ahead of Kaepernick's private NFL workout, James took to Twitter to show his support for the former NFL star.

Kaepernick last played in an NFL game during the 2016 season. He did not stand during the national anthem during a preseason game against the Green Bay Packers on Aug. 26.

After the game, Kaepernick stood firm in his decision to choose not to stand for the anthem saying, “I am not looking for approval. I have to stand up for people that are oppressed.”

Kaepernick was protesting police brutality, a cause James is firmly behind. The Lakers star has been open about how Kaepernick should be commended for essentially sacrificing his playing career for the betterment of society.

It's unclear if an NFL team is going to sign Kaepernick after Saturday's workout. LeBron is hoping Kaepernick gets signed, but either way, the four-time MVP will always support Colin and everything he has done.

After defeating the Sacramento Kings on Friday at home, the Lakers improved to 10-2 on the season. LeBron is averaging 24.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 11.1 assists through the Lakers' first 12 games.
