LOS ANGELES – LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have been through a lot over the past few weeks. Kobe Bryant's passing rocked this team and the city of Los Angeles to its core, making it incredibly tough to get back to concentrating on the task at hand.

Fortunately for the Lakers, the NBA All-Star break is right around the corner, with the team seemingly firing on all cylinders once again. Los Angeles may have lost to the Houston Rockets last week, but they've gotten back on track with consecutive wins against the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns.

After crushing the Suns in a 25-point rout, LeBron spoke to the media in the Lakers' locker room and stressed the importance of playing in the moment ahead of a much-needed break for this grieving franchise.

“That's what it is,” James said. “You play in the moment, and you go about the moment. Tomorrow's not promised, so can't really think about that too much. Obviously, everyone knows the break is going on, but as professionals, you have to play. You want to play, and you want to continue to get better, and we did that tonight.”

With the Lakers slowly but surely getting back to a sense of normalcy, or at least as much as that is possible at this point in time, the All-Star break couldn't come at a better time. Los Angeles will play only one more game before the break, with a matchup against the Denver Nuggets in the Mile High City on tap Wednesday.

Following the showdown with Nikola Jokic's squad, the Lakers won't play another game until Feb. 21 when the team plays host to Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies. That game will be followed by going head-to-head against the Boston Celtics on Feb. 23 before what will be a very emotional public memorial on Feb. 24 at Staples Center for Kobe and those who perished in the helicopter accident.
