It’s no secret that LeBron James is looking forward to the start of the 2019-20 NBA regular season.

After missing out on the playoffs last year, “The King” returns in his second year as member of the Los Angeles Lakers with a re-tooled squad that appears to be one of the clear-cut contenders to win it all this season.

Earlier, James claimed that he feels like a kid on “first day in school” as the the Lakers’ season opener versus cross-city rivals Los Angeles Clippers looms.

With just a day left until the highly anticipated showdown between the Kawhi Leonard-led Clippers, the 34-year-old three-time NBA champion now associated his excitement with a popular holiday.

James, of course, has plenty of reasons to feel giddy, as the Lakers emerged as one of the biggest winners of the 2019 free agency frenzy.

Although they did miss out on Leonard, the Purple and Gold acquired a platoon of big names in Anthony Davis, Danny Green, Dwight Howard, Avery Bradley, and Quin Cook among others. The team even landed four-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins before he was ruled out of the season with a torn ACL.

The first match-up against the Clippers will no doubt be the most anticipated and most watched game on opening night — especially with Leonard making his Clippers debut.

Aside from opening day, the two LA-based squads is also scheduled extend their brewing rivalry on Christmas Day.
