Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James admits the GOAT debate is becoming a little “exhausting” for him. However, that doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate the comparisons to other great players.

During his recent appearance on the Smartless podcast, LeBron was asked if he's getting tired of all the discussions on who is the greatest player of all time. The names of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are often thrown into that list along with James, and fans and experts alike have different answers when debating about it.

For LeBron, though, it is a huge honor to be mentioned in the same breath as the great players before him.

“It can be exhausting, you said it, but I’ve always looked at it like any time you’re compared or you’re even mentioned with the greats to ever play this game, it’s become humbling for me, because the same people they put me in the category with … are the same guys that I looked up to for inspiration when I was growing up,” the LeBron said, via Mike Trudell of Lakers.com.

“And I needed that inspiration growing up in the inner city here in Akron, Ohio. So to have the Michael Jordans’, the Kobe Bryants’, the Ken Griffey Jrs’, the Deion Sanders’, all those unbelievable sports figures when I needed it, they helped me. So it’s like, ‘Wow, you guys are comparing me to these greatest players that I’ve ever seen when I was growing up. It’s humbling, man.”

LeBron James has never shied away from expressing his admiration to the likes of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, so his take on the GOAT debate is not surprising.

Unfortunately for the Lakers star, it is unlikely he will ever hear the end of it since it is a hot topic that people like to talk about every year–especially whenever LeBron breaks a record or win something.
