LeBron James, one of the greatest basketball players of all time, has passed Michael Jordan for fourth all-time in the NBA scoring list.

As he was widely expected to surpass the Chicago Bulls legend, James made sure to honor the occasion by choosing to wear some MJ-inspired shoes.

The Lakers, who will likely miss the playoffs after much fanfare when the team signed James to a four-year maximum contract, are facing the Denver Nuggets, who currently sit comfortably in second place in the tough Western Conference.

While the Nuggets are projected to cruise to a win over the Lake show, all eyes has been on LeBron and his quest to cementing himself as one of the best scorers in the history of the league.

The only three players ahead of King James now are all former Lakers: Kobe Bryant is third, Karl Malone is second, while the inimitable Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is first with an astonishing 38,387 career points.

Though this season might be a lost cause for LBJ in terms of padding his playoff resume (although technically there’s still a chance), the game against the Nuggets would surely be memorable for LeBron.

James, never one to shy away from spectacle and pageantry, definitely chose the right kicks for the occasion.
