New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis officially signed with agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, and the best player in the world and Paul's most famous client, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, welcomed him on board.

Davis parted ways with his longtime agent Thad Foucher on Sept. 8. Rich Paul was the leading candidate to sign Davis all along and James is thrilled to have The Brow become part of the Klutch Sports team.

Anthony Davis has two years and $52 million left on his contract with the Pelicans, plus a $29 million player option for the 2020-21 season. The five-time All-Star is eligible for a supermax contract worth over $230 million beginning in 2020.

Now that Davis is part of Klutch Sports, there are plenty of Laker fans who are saying Davis is going to sign with Los Angeles or get traded there. It's just how NBA fans are wired. They jump to conclusions and like to stir the pot, even though there have been zero rumors connecting Davis to the Lakers.

Davis, 25, had another stellar campaign in 2017-18. In 75 regular season games, the former No. 1 overall pick averaged 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 53.4 percent from the floor, 34.0 percent from 3-point distance, and 82.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pelicans won their first playoff series in the 2018 postseason since Davis was drafted in 2012 out of Kentucky. New Orleans swept the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round and Davis dominated Portland's frontcourt. In the four-game sweep, Davis posted 33.0 points, 11.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 2.8 blocks per game.

Davis and the Pelicans lost to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals in five games, but it was still a step in the right direction for the franchise.

It would be really fun to see LeBron and Davis on the same team. James is the best player in the league and Davis isn't too far behind. However, Davis has consistently said he wants to win in New Orleans and build a contender there.
