Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is as motivated as ever to add to his championship total and deliver the franchise its 17th NBA championship in James' 17th season.

But, considering the extenuating circumstances, James is dropping his tradition of going off-the-grid for the playoff push.Historically, James locks into “Zero Dark Thirty-23 Mode“, during which James logs off social media—where he is extremely active—until his team is eliminated for the postseason to emphasize his laser focus. But, with the bubble in Orlando causing him to isolate away from his family, he is relying on his devices to communicate with his loved ones.

James called his wife, Savannah, a “beast” for taking care of the James' family household in his extended absence, which could last nearly four months if the Lakers end up deep into the NBA Finals. James has three kids at home—Bronny, Bryce Maximus, and Zhuri.

Cleary, James has been regularly FaceTiming with his family, and he paid compliments to the late Steve Jobs, too.

James has also been using his social media to continue advocating for racial justice, including calling attention to the murder of Breonna Taylor. He has also used his accounts to share information about his recently-formed “More Than a Vote” initiative aiming to combat voter suppression.

The top-seeded Lakers (49-14) will resume their 2019-20 season on Thursday in a matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers (44-20). After the eight seeding games, the first round of the Western Conference playoffs is set to tip-off in mid-August.

After missing the playoffs in his first season in L.A.—breaking his streak of nine straight Finals appearances—James averaged 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and a league-leading 10.6 assists per game.
