Coming off a big win against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, the Los Angeles Lakers will have to create a gameplan without superstar LeBron James for their next game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

James will apparently miss the game with a cold according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. The 17-year NBA veteran is coming off one of his best games of the season where he dropped 35 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists.

In the Lakers two previous games against the Thunder, the four-time NBA MVP has averaged 24 points, 12 assists and 8.5 rebounds per game and Los Angeles has won both matchups.

Saturday's game will only be the second game that the 35-year-old has missed this season. James has helped lead Los Angeles to a Western Conference-best 31-7 record this season.

The Lakers have already had to deal with an injury to fellow superstar Anthony Davis who suffered a back injury in the Lakers game against the New York Knicks on January 7.

Without their two superstars, the Lakers will have to lean on players like Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Danny Green to shoulder the scoring load.

At the same time, The Thunder come into the game as one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Oklahoma City has won eight of their last 10 games and is coming off a big 21-point win over the Houston Rockets. Led by veteran guard Chris Paul and second-year star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder have surprised many this season on their way to a 22-16 record and a seven seed in the Western Conference
