The Los Angeles Lakers have been without their rookie point guard Lonzo Ball since he suffered an ankle sprain in the team's second preseason game against the Denver Nuggets back on Oct. 2. Ball has missed the last three games as he nurses the ankle injury.

On Thursday, Ball participated in practice for the first time since he sustained what has been diagnosed as a mild sprain. Ball spoke to the media after the team's practice session and provided an update on how he feels.

“It felt good,” Ball said of getting back on the practice floor. “Obviously, there's still some discomfort. I'm happy to be out here for the most part. I did all the 5 and 0 stuff, so that was good and I'm just trying to progress every day.”

The team currently considers rookie point guard questionable for Friday's preseason finale against the L.A. Clippers. Ball was asked what are the chances he plays tomorrow after going through his first practice in over a week.

“I'm not sure,” Ball said of his playing status. “I'll come in tomorrow talk to the training staff and see what they have to say. Today was definitely a positive step forward.”

Although Ball was moving around well in practice and seemed back to normal, tomorrow's shootaround will determine whether he's on the floor to face the Clippers on Friday night at the Staples Center.

If Ball is unable to go, Luke Walton and company would go with Tyler Ennis and Alex Caruso sharing time at point guard once again. Caruso played a team-high 32 minutes in the loss to the Utah Jazz on Tuesday and may get a chance to showcase his skills once again on Friday.
