Lonzo Ball, the touted No.2 overall pick out of UCLA in the 2017 NBA Draft, was recently shut down for the season by the Los Angeles Lakers as the team spiraled out of the playoff race.

Ball had been a bright spot for the Lakers this year, and though some of his numbers were down after his rookie year (in which he was named to the All-Rookie Second Team), there were signs of improvement in various areas for the 21-year-old.

Sadly, Ball had suffered from various injuries throughout his Lakers tenure, and with two seasons under his belt, he will only have played 99 total games out of a possible 164 — just over 60 percent. Not great for a rookie player that was meant to be an important part of the team going forward.

Meanwhile, news broke this week that Ball had severed all ties with his father’s Big Baller Brand shoe line, and that Ball will become a shoe free agent. There had been rumors and whispers that the reason behind Ball’s injury problems was his use of BBB shoes.

Either way, Ball and Big Baller Brand are no longer an item, and Lonzo wasted no time in covering his tattoo that featured the “triple B” Big Baller Brand logo.

Let’s hope Lonzo Ball recovers well, and we shall see what shoes he hoops in next season — and for what team.
