An odd moment arose during the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns Friday night at Staples Center.

Prior to the Suns' 123-113 victory, there was an altercation on the floor that resulted in all but one of the players on the floor getting in each other's faces and exchanging some shoves.

Lonzo Ball was the only player not interested in the altercation, providing somewhat of a bizarre moment since NBA players usually rush in during times like this.

Ball was asked about the moment after the game and had this comment regarding his decision to calmly retreat to the bench, via Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders.

“It's the NBA. People ain't gonna really fight, so I ain't trying to get no tech.”

Well Ball certainly makes some good points since yes, NBA players typically won't actually start a real fight like they used to do back in the 70's or 80's. It's usually just all for show these days with players pretending to act tough, knowing full well they won't cross the line and suffer the inevitable consequences.

But it still felt weird watching Ball just walk away. Not because his teammates were in any real danger but he just looked separate from them and not concerned at all. Maybe there is nothing to it, but the moment should be talked about quite a bit.
