After back-to-back wins against the Brooklyn Nets and Memphis Grizzlies at home, the Los Angeles Lakers will embark on a four-game road trip. In their first game, they will play the Boston Celtics and all the focus will be on the point guard matchup.

As Kyrie Irving is looking to help the Celtics win a championship, Ball is looking to help the Lakers reach that championship level again. Following his near double-double performance against the Grizzlies where he finished with nine points and nine assists, Ball looked ahead to his first matchup against the four-time All-Star.

“It's going to be fun,” Ball said. “Kyrie's one of the best players in the league, so definitely looking forward to it.”

While every team seemingly has an All-Star point guard in today's league, it will be another early challenge for Ball. After already facing John Wall, Kyle Lowry, and Damian Lillard, Irving may be his toughest matchup as he is close to unguardable.

Although Ball is purely focused on helping his team win games, it will be interesting to see if he is more of a scorer or facilitator in Boston. With the Lakers focused on ball movement and team defense, they have been competitive through the first 10 games of the 2017-18 NBA season.

Ball is averaging 8.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in 32.8 minutes.
