Before the end of the first half between the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday, the fans inside Staples Center had a scare when they saw Lonzo Ball exit the game abruptly after suffering a shoulder injury. Fear grew further as he went directly to the locker room while holding on to the shoulder, and visibly in pain.

The good news for the Lakers is that he was able to start the third quarter, and did not appear to be hampered by the injury. When asked how he felt and what his exact condition is, the 20-year-old rookie admitted, via ClutchPoints' own Dan Duangdao, that he felt a pop on his shoulder. However, he made it known as well that he plans to play on Christmas Day, against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Ball continued his strong run of late with another solid performance on Saturday, recording a double-double of 10 points and 11 assists, to go along with eight rebounds and two steals. He was able to finish the game, and played a total of 33 minutes, but his efforts were not able to help the Lakers win the game, and lost for the 14th consecutive time to the Blazers, 95-92.

The second overall pick's comments are encouraging for his team and their supporters, as he will most likely not miss any games. However, his situation is worth monitoring, as the Lakers could still decide to take a cautious approach on him, especially if he feels any pain on his shoulder in the next few days.
