Lonzo Ball says his pre-draft workout with the Los Angeles Lakers was his worst ever because he was sick.

Ball had to take cough syrup and says it affected his movement on the court.

The Lakers still drafted Lonzo Ball with the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Ball, of course, is now with the New Orleans Pelicans after the Lakers traded him, Josh Hart and Brandon Ingram (and a slew of picks) for Anthony Davis this summer.

Ball finished his Lakers career with averages of 10.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 99 games. He shot just 38.0 percent from the field, 31.5 percent from beyond the arc and 43.7 percent from the free-throw line with the Los Angeles franchise.

Some believe the Lakers should have taken De'Aaron Fox or Jayson Tatum over Ball in the 2017 Draft. The Boston Celtics selected Tatum third overall, while Fox went to the Sacramento Kings with the fifth pick.

None of that matters now, though. The Lakers got the second star they needed next to LeBron James and can now compete for a championship next season. You can expect Ball, Ingram and Hart to be motivated to beat the Purple and Gold when the Pelicans come to the Staples Center.
