Many interpreted Lonzo Ball's pre-game haircut to be a cleanse of the juju, a ridding of the evil ghosts, and a new, fresh start to end to his shooting struggles. Not for Lonzo.

“It's just a haircut, man,” said Ball prior to his Lakers taking a second straight loss in a 122-113 defeat on their home floor.

Looking at his stat line alone would suggest Ball didn't have that fresh of a start, as the Los Angeles Lakers rookie managed only six points, six rebounds, and six assists (wait, is that bad juju?), though showing a much-improved acumen at the defensive end, coming up with five steals and a block.

Ball played 38 minutes after two games where he didn't cross the 30-minute mark — an encouraging sign after he's been notably bothered by his woeful shooting on the floor.

Fellow rookie Kyle Kuzma dropped in a career-high night for the second straight game, totaling 30 points and 10 rebounds — the first rookie to do so in franchise history since Magic Johnson in 1980.

The Lakers (6-10) have now lost five of their last six after an encouraging start to the season; clearly taking more than just a haircut to turn the ship back around.
