Lonzo Ball is making his highly-anticipated preseason debut on Friday against the Golden State Warriors according to Mark Medina of The Mercury News. The Los Angeles Lakers will get back one of their most dynamic young players. Ball is coming off of surgery on his knee.

The Lakers always expected Lonzo to be ready for the start of the season, but they were cautious with how they approached his rehab process. They didn't want to rush him back to soon and risk a setback. Ball is integral to the team's future.

Lonzo's rookie season was riddled with injuries and he only appeared in 52 games for the Lakers. His 10.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game helped land him a spot on the NBA's All-Rookie second team. Part of that may have had to do with his draft status and notoriety.

But Ball definitely had a successful rookie campaign. He suffered through serious shooting slumps at times, but that was a common narrative even when he shot the ball well. As he improves his form and gets more comfortable on the floor, his shooting will improve.

But his ability to do everything besides scoring is what sets him apart. He has great vision, can play make for his teammates, defend, and rebound. He's well-rounded for his age and does much more to contribute to winning on top of his 10.2 points per game.

Lakers fans will have their first opportunity to see Ball's new and improved shot along with the rest of his game.
