The Los Angeles Lakers will not sign guard Isaiah Thomas to a second 10-day contract, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium. Thomas reportedly has interest from other teams as he hits the market again.

The Lakers recently signed Thomas as they try to navigate a tough season full of injuries and COVID-19 issues. The veteran guard appeared in four games for Los Angeles. This was his second stint with the team.

Thomas made waves with 19 points in his first game back with the Lakers against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he followed that up with a 13-point effort against the Chicago Bulls. However, the next two games didn't go well, with an ugly 1-of-11 shooting performance in a blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns. He then had just two points on 1-of-5 shooting in a 28-point loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Thomas didn't play in the Christmas Day loss to the Brooklyn Nets after the Lakers signed Darren Collison, who struggled in 12 minutes.

In his four Lakers games (all losses), Thomas averaged 9.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 30.8% from the field and 22.7% from 3-point range.

While Thomas struggled with his shooting, it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see him get another shot with so many players in COVID-19 protocols. Perhaps the Boston Celtics look to bring IT back as they also struggle through their season.
