The Los Angeles Lakers are filling out their roster in preparation for training camp which will get underway next month. Along with bringing on notable names like Brook Lopez and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope this summer, the team has also brought players that will have to compete for spots like Vander Blue.

Although it was uncertain whether Blue would be signed by the Lakers after an impressive showing in the NBA Summer League last month, the team officially agreed to terms with the guard on Friday, according to Lakers.com:

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Vander Blue, it was announced today by General Manager Rob Pelinka. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Over the past few years, Blue has made a name for himself in the G League. The 25-year-old guard is widely considered to be one of the best players in the G League and arguably the face of the recently rebranded South Bay Lakers.

During the Lakers run to a Summer League championship title in Las Vegas in July, Blue made quite the impression averaging 15.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. The Marquette product played at a high level throughout the tournament and proved that at the very least he deserves an opportunity to make the team for the upcoming 2017-18 NBA season.

Along with Blue, the Lakers recently agreed to terms with Tyler Ennis and rookie Thomas Bryant. Summer League standout Alex Caruso was also signed by the team on a two-way deal.
