The Los Angeles Lakers are 0-2 this season, and their head coach Luke Walton thinks Kyle Kuzma could fix his defensive approach to help them improve. In their season opener, the Lakers fell to the Portland Trailblazers. Their second game was a heated matchup with the Houston Rockets, but the still ended up falling short. The Lakers are playing at a breakneck speed, but the could definitely benefit from some better defending, especially in the post. Kuzma is only in his second year, but his head coach expects a lot from him this season.

“One, the technique, he’s got these little happy feet. He likes to shuffle them,” said Walton, via Silver Screen & Roll. “Two, he’s got to take it personal, which I think he does, he texted me as soon as the game was over and said that will never happen again.”

Kyle Kuzma is listed at 6-foot-9, and he can play from small forward down to a center position in small ball lineups. This allows the Lakers to really push the pace. Battling with signigicantly bigger bodies down low will be a test, but it's one Luke Walto thinks he can pass. He just needs a little time.

Through two games, Kuzma is averaging 13 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. The Lakers are starting to piece some things together, but they're still trying to figure out who they are. The team will likely start Lonzo Ball at point guard against the San Antonio Spurs tonight. This will be a true test to see how the youth of their team has developed against yet another playoff team in the East.
