Lonzo Ball may not have an orthodox shooting form, but it’s very hard to question it, especially with all the success he’s had since he started playing basketball. Now that he’s playing at the highest level, his head coach is even defending it, and says that he and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers coaching staff are not planning to ask him to change how he shoots.

Although Luke Walton admitted that he indeed has a unique style, he made it known, via Mike Breshanan of Spectrum SportsNet, that as long he continues to make shots with his shooting stroke, it will be “silly’ to mess with it.

In his first three games in the NBA, the 19-year-old has been very impressive, and has been able to showcase his all-around brilliance. Ball has produced solid numbers of 13.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 8.7 assists and 1.0 steals in 34.3minutes per game. However, he may need to be more consistent on the offensive end, and not to force shots as well, to add to his effectiveness on the court.

The Lakers are currently 1-2 for the season, but have a lot of reason to be optimistic about their chances of challenging for a playoff spot in the tough Western Conference. One of them is the emergence of Ball as a player capable of becoming a future star in the league, and his potential to be their next franchise player. Regardless of how he shoots the ball, it definitely won’t matter, as long as he continues to make his attempts, and score a lot of points to help his team’s cause.
