Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton will be facing the biggest challenge of his career this coming season — coaching one of the greatest players of his generation in LeBron James. This is why Walton is looking to get all the help he can get.

According to sources, the 38-year-old intends to have a sit down with Tyronn Lue, James' former coach, in an attempt to fully grasp the intricacies of coaching arguably the biggest name in the game today.

Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times broke the news, and even provided some details on the schedule of the meeting.

“Lue said he plans to meet with Walton and Lakers associate head coach Brian Shaw — who was Lue’s Lakers teammate for two seasons — in Las Vegas this week to discuss over dinner their new coaching challenge.”

This is definitely very gracious of Lue. However, whether or not he will be able to give sound advice to Walton remains to be seen. After all, despite Lue and James publicly claiming how much mutual respect they had towards each other, it did not take a genius to see that there was at least some strain in the relationship.

Lue went on to explain that the challenge of coaching James does not lie on LeBron himself, but rather, on all the pressure that it goes hand in hand with.

“I’ll just tell them LeBron’s easy,” said Lue. “People get this whole thing built up like he’s hard to coach. It’s not. LeBron’s not the problem. It’s the outside tension that’s the problem. Just put added pressure immediately on the coaches, on his teammates. Now everything you do is under a microscope.”

Walton will definitely have his hands full this season, and this will undeniably be the biggest test of his young coaching career.
