Los Angeles Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson was angry in the meeting he had with head coach Luke Walton, but Walton's job is not in danger, according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.

Ownership still believes in Walton despite the Lakers' poor start to the year. LA is 3-5 on the season and giving up 121.1 points per game, which ranks 28th in the NBA.

Luke Walton signed a five-year deal with the Lakers in 2016 worth about $25 million. The first four years of the deal are guaranteed. While no one within the Lakers organization expected the team to be a championship contender in Year 1 of the LeBron James era, it looks like Magic Johnson and the rest of the team's brass are not happy with the early struggles.

Luke Walton told local reporters Friday he's not going anywhere and is going to keep the dialogue between him and Magic Johnson private.

Other than having the support of the franchise, Luke Walton also appears to have a good relationship with James. There haven't been any reports claiming LeBron has an issue with Walton, which is good since James had problems with David Blatt with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Blatt was fired in 2015 as a result.
