Lonzo Ball is getting his first taste of training camp in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers' first practice officially in the books on Tuesday.

Following his first practice under head coach Luke Walton, Ball spoke to the media about training camp and his mindset moving forward. The UCLA product also gave some insight into what advice Magic Johnson has been giving to the 19-year-old point guard.

“Be vocal,” Ball said of Magic's advice. “Stay focused. He's right upstairs. I can go talk to him for advice anytime. He's always open.”

Despite being a rookie fresh out of college, Ball will be expected to be one of the leaders of this young Lakers team. The Chino Hills native has shown remarkable pose considering the enormous pressure he's under heading into his first season in purple and gold.

As if Ball's demeanor wasn't impressive enough, the rookie point guard has also sparked a lot of optimism in Los Angeles with his incredible ability to be extremely versatile on the basketball court. Not only does Ball's court vision rival that of Johnson's, but there doesn't seem to be anything he can't do on the hardwood outside of some needed improvement defensively.

If Ball can heed Magic's advice, the former Bruins star could have a very bright future ahead as the face of the Lakers franchise. Ball will get his first go-round in a Lakers uniform on Saturday when the team faces off against Jimmy Butler's Minnesota Timberwolves in the preseason opener for Los Angeles.
