Los Angeles Lakers icon Magic Johnson thinks LeBron James doesn't have much time left to win another title in LA. After all, father time is quickly catching up to the 36-year-old star.

In an appearance pm ESPN Radio’s Keyshawn, JWill and Zubin, Johnson got extra honest and shared his belief LeBron has “two hard years” remaining to truly dominate and compete for another title with the Lakers.

“I think to me he has two hard years,” Johnson said, per Larry Brown Sports. “I’m talking about, ‘listen, we gotta get it done in these two years that I can still just be a man out here dominating, playing great.'”

Magic, however, is not leaving everything on LeBron's shoulders to lead the Purple and Gold to the promised land. He also issued a challenge to the Lakers to maximize James' remaining dominant years and surround him with the right pieces in order to get the Larry O'Brien trophy back to LA.

“The Lakers, we got to get some pieces around here for these two years. In another year, (Kevin Durant), it’s going to be his turn,” Johnson added.

While LeBron James remains one of the best players in the NBA, the 2021 playoffs proved he is no longer the same player he once was as signs of decline in his game began to show. Injuries may have played a role in that, but there is general belief around the league that The King's level of play is not as high as it used to be.

Of course, it is never wrong to count out a player of James' caliber. Nonetheless, Magic Johnson might not be wrong in saying LeBron and the Lakers have only two good years left to truly compete. Besides, King James has only two years left on his contract anyway.
